Senior Technical Sales Engineer - Full Time - Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia

Purpose of the Job

Sulzer Chemtech’s expanding licensing portfolio is delivering exciting new low-carbon solutions to customers as they navigate the ever-changing world of sustainability. Our client base faces challenges from multiple fronts and are turning more and more to technology-providers for a roadmap that will lead them to a successful future. This requires us to be more creative and more responsive than ever before as we work as a global team to propose and sell our product, technology, and service portfolios. We are looking for a Senior/ Technical Sales Engineer that understands customer needs in providing technical support and crafts winning proposals in support of sales strategies with the help of team members and technology experts.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  1. Will be part of Global Technical Sales team led by Technical Sales Director
  2. Responsible for generating proposals independently most of the time working with guidance from Technical Sales Director
  3. Study customer’s specifications: review, interpret, understand, and identify bid requirements.
  4. Prepare complete deliverables for the full technical proposal producing simulations, material balance and utility requirements, Process Flow Diagrams, equipment sizing and design, Capital Cost Estimation
  5. Attend customer proposal review meetings as needed, presenting the technical details as required.
  6. Support Licensing Front sales team based in APAC with technical inputs for customer sales visits and travel with them as and when needed.
Safety Responsibilities

  1. To adhere strictly to the company and national ESH regulations and operational procedures
  2. To contribute development of environmentally friendly products and solutions
  3. To participate and contribute to consultation process in health and safety related activities, where applicable
  4. To report all ESH potential and actual incidents to line manager or site ESH manager
  5. To help prevent and report any environmental and health and safety violations in the workplace.

To succeed in this role, you will need:-

Education Requirements

  1. Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Job Experience

  1. 4 to 6 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, and downstream industry with basic understanding of process configuration
  2. Proficient with process simulation and design software’s like PROII, HYSYS, Aspen Plus etc.
  3. The ideal candidate has relevant experience in process design and is passionate about technology, customer relationships, and results.
Knowledge Requirements (professional, Technical, Language)

  1. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, Fluent in English, Chinese is a plus
  2. Good presentation and influencing skills.
