Senior Technical Product OwnerREPORTS TO: VP, Technology Partner or Regional CIO
This role consists of strategic product planning, managing the product backlog, being the voice of the customer to the technology teams, business solution design, and project oversight responsibilities for a complex functional technical product or group of products and/or service. You will lead business product managers through defining their product vision and roadmap by leveraging your in-depth industry knowledge, interpretation of business challenges, understanding of key stakeholder needs, and deep technology expertise. You will fulfill this vision by leading and directing the business solution design practice for new product features and capabilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Leads business product managers to define product-level vision in concert with a technology roadmap leveraging portfolio capabilities, frameworks, and processes.
- Leads external clients and/or stakeholders through the design of new product and/or solution features, starting with understanding the business strategy, defining the business need and translating into features and stories for delivery teams, while ensuring the overall approach has valid cost-benefit drivers, and aligns with the business objectives.
- Builds out multi-year strategic product roadmaps incorporating forward looking trends based on business and technology expertise in partnership with the Business Product Manager.
- Communicates complex concepts through storyboards, prototypes and other interactive design techniques and recommends user-centric solutions; including presenting, pitching, and convincing others to accept alternative approaches to the problem/solution paradigm.
- Leverages the RGA Product Framework and best practices for developing user/business centric solution recommendations and proposals.
- Serves as a Technical expert to ensure accurate interpretation of these needs throughout the development lifecycle.
- Creates and maintains the product backlog; collaborating with business product manager on prioritization and delivery.
- Leads the effort to develop cross-divisional/line of business/geography solution strategy plans for functional product:
- Identifies and understands stakeholder needs.
- Assesses existing systems support for the business needs.
- Works with the appropriate business and IT associates to find the best solutions (across technology and process) and with the functional leads to ensure business processes make the most efficient and effective use of the technology deployed.
- Develops business objectives, delivery best practices and solution goals.
- Works with the functional leads to specify in detail how the service will be delivered, roles and responsibilities, effort, and how to measure success of the service and its contribution to supporting the business as part of translating the Business Architecture into an implementation roadmap.
- Documents features and user stories as needed to support the development teams and process.
- Works seamlessly across regions and functions, forming, evolving, and disbanding virtual teams; including establishment of governance structures as appropriate to achieve the objectives.

JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- Program delivery methodologies such as Agile.
- Previous experience supporting business teams from an IT perspective.
- Experience in system design and strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and practices.
Experience and Skills- 15+ years of progressive professional experience evaluating, delivering, and/or managing complex development and/or process improvement projects in a global environment.
- 10+ years business and technical experience.
- Highly advanced ability to solve unique and complex problems that have a potentially broad impact on the business. Must be a proven, innovative thinker.
- Highly advanced facilitation skills with the ability to obtain buy-in from business stakeholders on deliverables.
- Expert global teaming and remote collaboration skills.
- Exceptional ability to challenge the status quo in a facilitative and collaborative way.
- Competent in Business Domain Analysis, Business Architecture Development and Business Process Modeling.
