AGS Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a corporate tax professional to prepare and review tax computations, tax returns and supporting schedules, and to manage client portfolios in Malaysia.
The role involves advising on corporate tax planning, participating in IPOs and corporate exercises, liaising with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), supervising junior staff, and ensuring timely, accurate tax deliverables.
Prepare and/or review corporate tax computations, tax returns and supporting schedules
Manage corporate tax compliance portfolios and ensure statutory deadlines are met
Advise clients on corporate tax, tax planning and other tax-related matters
Participate in tax assignments relating to IPOs, corporate exercises, business restructurings and special transactions
Research Malaysian tax legislation, guidelines and developments and translate them into practical recommendations for clients
Liaise directly with clients and the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) on tax matters
Assist with and manage tax audits, investigations, queries and dispute resolution matters
Review tax working papers and deliverables prepared by junior team members
Identify potential tax issues, risks and planning opportunities for clients
Coach and guide junior team members on technical and engagement matters
Manage engagement timelines, client expectations and deliverables
Requirement:
3 to 5 years experience in tax
Degree in Accountancy and/or partial professional qualification in related field
Partial professional qualification is an added advantage
Familiar with applicable reporting standard in Malaysia and Companies Act 2016, and Income Tax Act
Experience in supervising and coaching junior staff members
Proficient in written and spoken English
Willing to travel and able to work independently
