Job description

We are currently hiring a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team based in Malaysian Branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file corporate income tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing and other statutory tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Liaise with external tax consultants and auditors during tax reviews and audits.
  • Maintain tax records and documentation for audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on tax implications of business transactions.
  • Assist in transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare quarter-end and year-end management reports and attend to any ad hoc requests.
  • Contribute to the overall credit control function for unmatched and long outstanding balances.
  • Liaise with the treasury team on daily operational matters.
  • Engage actively in ad hoc projects, including automation projects.
  • Develop and recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of financial reporting areas.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by Team Lead/ CFO.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting and tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of local tax laws and international tax principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and programming language (e.g. Python, Java) is a plus.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, relying on sound judgment.
  • Excellent task and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a team environment, providing consistent and collaborative service to the business.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and communication skills, as you will be in constant communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
