Job summary

NI Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support factory operations by managing raw material quality issues with a mechanical focus and minor electronic components.

You will drive supplier engagement and collaborate with Production, Engineering, IQC/Warehouse, and suppliers to ensure containment, investigation, corrective action, and prevention of supplier-related quality issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of supplier quality experience preferred.
• Familiar with SMT/Front of Line processes is advantageous.
• Proficient with quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto analysis, containment, corrective and preventive actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with mechanical and electronic component suppliers, focusing on quality performance.
• Serve as the liaison between internal teams and suppliers for quality issues (containment, investigation, disposition, CAPA).
• Understand internal customer needs and address issues with proactive solutions.
• Independently lead projects or feature changes improving operational efficiency and material quality.
• Collaborate with R&D and suppliers during NPI activities and quality improvement projects.
• Align and support global and regional commodity strategies.
• Provide technical support across cross-functional teams.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers or technicians.
• Execute activities aligned with departmental goals and long-term strategy.

Supplier Quality Engineer (Factory Support)

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Supplier Quality Engineer to support our factory operations by managing raw material (mechanical focus with minor electronic components) quality issues encountered during operations. This role is vital in driving supplier engagement, ensuring production continuity through collaboration with Production, Engineering, IQC/Warehouse, and suppliers to ensure timely containment, investigation, corrective action, and prevention of supplier-related quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with mechanical (and electronics) component suppliers, with a focus on quality performance.
• Act as the key liaison between internal teams and suppliers for quality issues related to mechanical and electronic component parts, managing issue containment, investigation, disposition, corrective actions and follow-ups.
• Understand internal customer needs and proactively address issues by analyzing requirements and recommending solutions.
• Independently lead projects or feature changes that positively impact operational efficiency and material/product quality.
• May collaborate with R&D and suppliers during NPI activities, engineering changes, and quality improvement projects.
• Align and support global and regional commodity strategies.
• Serve as a technical resource across cross-functional teams; provide technical support when needed.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers or technicians.
• Execute activities aligned with departmental goals and long-term strategy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering required.
• 5+ years of working experience preferred. Added advantage with knowledge in SMT/Front of Line processes.
• Familiar with quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto analysis, containment action, corrective action, and preventive action.
