Job summary

Airswift is seeking a seasoned Subsea Structural Engineer to lead multi-project design within time and budget limits. You will oversee interface management across disciplines, provide technical solutions, and ensure quality and on-time delivery of engineering deliverables for offshore/subsea structures.

The role requires 8+ years in subsea engineering, FEED and detailed design using SACS/ABAQUS, with Orcaflex knowledge as a plus.

Qualifications

• BSc Civil/Structural/Mechanical Eng with MSc preferred; 8+ years subsea/ offshore exp.
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Design for offshore/subsea structures using SACS or similar software.
• Experience with linear and non-linear finite element analysis using ABAQUS or similar tools.
• Dynamic analysis of offshore marine systems using Orcaflex is a plus.

About The Job Responsibilities of Role:

Ability to supervise and function within a design team and across multiple projects. Demonstrates ability to work within time/budget constraints. Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers. Ability to inform team members and identify changes to scope and promptly raise change notifications, including providing any necessary supporting documentation and estimates. Manage technical design scope (full or partial) and ensure technical compliance and quality as well as on-time delivery of engineering deliverables. Assist Lead Engineer in the overall execution of the Subsea Engineering for proposals and projects. Provide technical support and engineering solutions with sound technical understanding of Subsea Structure system, including construction, installation and operational aspects. Independently perform Structural Design and Analysis and with the ability to supervise junior engineers. Extensive familiarity with recognised industry engineering software and tool for structural analyses (e.g. SACS, ABAQUS). Undertake design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged Industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. DNV, ISO, API, ASME), Client Specifications and Scopes of Work. Undertake responsibility for production of project deliverables, which may include design basis, construction drawings, design calculations, technical specifications, datasheets, procedures, stress analyses reports, material take-offs, weight control reports, RFQ documentations, bid evaluation reports, feasibility and study reports and various 3rd-party submissions. Perform review of design and technical documentations to demonstrate sound technical compliance and acceptable performance of subsea application. Attend project meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings and interface meetings, as required. Assist lead engineer in developing in-house design tools as part of continuous improvement initiative. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed. Demonstrate commitment to safety and quality through participation in safety and quality initiatives. Support, mentor and develop junior engineers. BSc. Experience on dynamic analysis of offshore marine system using Orcaflex is a plus. System Engineering experience in SPS and/or SURF equipment is a plus. Experience in field development and conceptual study for subsea development is a plus. Effective planning of subsea engineering activities for projects from schedule & budget perspective Ability to work closely with Lead Engineers, Project Management, Multi-discipline Engineers in the forecasting, scheduling of deliverables, drawings and overall project support. In depth knowledge of various structure design codes and specifications. Piping design knowledge is a plus. Good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Mathcad. AutoCAD knowledge is a plus. Should possessed and demonstrated good analytical skills and computer simulation skills. Must have good communication, writing, and presentation skills, and an excellent work ethic and work attitude. Organizational skills a must. Must interpret, organize, execute, and coordinates assignments. Must also be a team player. A positive attitude towards developing and training the subsea engineering team. Innovation with the ability to analyse and solve problems outside of base role. Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role. Excellent communication skills. Produces work of excellent quality.
