Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced embedded software/automation engineer in Penang to lead test strategy and automation across multiple platforms. You will implement scalable frameworks, drive non-functional testing like performance and security, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Mentoring teammates and adopting AI-enhanced testing will be part of the role. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality firmware for embedded devices, chassis and camera

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electronics/Electrical/Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years working experience in related fields.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, VB, Java or other scripting languages and frameworks.
• Experience with Workflows, Mocking frameworks / Simulator.
• Hands on experiences in using LoadRunner, Service Test, Selenium, Robot is a plus.
• Knowledge of Model Based testing and Performance Engineering.
• Proficiency in Machine Learning, Agentic AI, LLMs.
• Able to design test automation framework for Motorola Solutions products from an End-to-End test perspective.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Test Planning: Develop and refine automated testing strategy across unit, integration, system, acceptance, performance, security, and UI testing.
• Automation Framework Development: Design scalable test automation frameworks across embedded, cloud, web, mobile, API platforms.
• Performance and Security Testing Expertise: Develop and execute performance and security test plans using specialized tools.
• CI/CD: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and optimize pipeline performance.
• Tool Evaluation: Research and adopt new testing tools and practices to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement on Efficiency: AI adoption and deployment into automation frameworks for speed and quality governance.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor Test Engineers and Developers in best practices and cutting-edge testing technologies.
