Senior Staff Automation Engineer (Based in Ipoh)

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical mentoring and coaching for the automation team (engineers & technicians).
2. Manage the commissioning and qualification of in-house built automation systems, ensuring compliance with established local quality standards.
3. Develop, maintain, and implement the process automation agenda for the site, collaborating with end users during initial planning.
4. Align functions to meet engineering goals, production requirements, and company targets (UPH, Cpk, quality, yield, scrap safety, ESD).
5. Act as the system owner for assigned process automation systems.
6. Own and manage site procedures and technical standards for automation.
7. Resolve complex problems independently.
8. Support automation contractors and global support teams.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's, Professional, or Master's Degree in Engineering (Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Computer/Telecommunication, or equivalent.
2. Experience with product development processes and successful product releases to production.
3. Experience working with fiber-optic/laser products.
4. Minimum 15 years in the related industry within a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
5. Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
