Job summary

Sandisk in Penang seeks an experienced automation engineer to develop and deliver end-to-end automation solutions for logistics systems, designing AS/RS, conveyors, and material handling equipment.

You will plan AGV/AMR/ARV systems, support OHS/OHT integration in cleanroom environments, and perform material flow analyses and capacity planning to boost efficiency. Strong collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with 10+ years in mechanical design.
• 5+ years in automation solution design, preferably in logistics or material handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver end-to-end automation solutions for logistics systems, including concept design, layout planning, and technical proposals.
• Design and optimize AS/RS, conveyor systems, and material handling solutions.
• Plan and implement AGV/AMR/ARV systems for automated material transportation and workflow optimization.
• Support integration and application of OHS/OHT systems in cleanroom and semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Perform material flow analysis, system simulation, and capacity planning to improve operational efficiency.
• Prepare technical documentation, including 2D/3D layouts, system specifications, and cost estimation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and delivery.
• Communicate with customers to analyze requirements and propose optimized solutions.
• Support project execution including design review, installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement.

Job Description

• Plan and implement AGV/AMR/ARV systems for automated material transportation and workflow optimization
• Support integration and application of OHS/OHT systems in cleanroom and semiconductor manufacturing environments
• Perform material flow analysis, system simulation, and capacity planning to improve operational efficiency
• Prepare technical documentation, including 2D/3D layouts, system specifications, and cost estimation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure system integration and delivery
• Communicate with customers to analyze requirements, provide technical presentations, and propose optimized solutions
• Support project execution including design review, installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related field
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience with strong engineering fundamentals
• 5+ years of experience in automation solution design, preferably in logistics or material handling systems
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for equipment and layout design
• Extensive experience in logistics automation systems, including:
• AS/RS (Automated Warehouse Systems)
• AGV / AMR / ARV systems
• OHS / OHT systems
• Strong understanding of material flow, system integration, and industrial automation principles

Skills

• Experience in semiconductor industry projects is highly preferred
• Ability to perform technical analysis, solution optimization, and cost estimation
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex projects independently
• Good communication skills in English; able to work in cross-functional and international teams
