Job summary

Horizontal Talent is seeking a Senior SRE in Kuala Lumpur to drive DevSecOps strategies and platform reliability. You will manage IaC, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native microservices, automation, and release processes to ensure fast, secure software delivery.

You will partner with teams to implement and evolve infrastructure, monitoring, incident response, and reliability practices while mentoring junior engineers and upholding high standards of operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or equivalent roles.
• Cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Infrastructure as code tools: Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Observability solutions with modern monitoring stacks.
• Incident response leadership and post-mortem processes.
• Proficiency in Java or other OO languages.
• Containerization and orchestration expertise.
• Kafka is a plus; familiarity with relational/non-relational databases is helpful.
• Able to balance hands-on work with strategic decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of highly available, secure, scalable infrastructure using IaC principles.
• Establish and maintain SLOs/SLIs to define reliability standards.
• Act as incident commander during outages with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and enhance observability platforms for real-time monitoring of key signals.
• Create automation for incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Advance DevSecOps practices to enable safe, rapid deployments via CI/CD and GitOps.
• Drive FinOps initiatives to manage infra usage with performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of operational excellence.
