Job summary

Reap is building a Site Reliability Engineering practice in a fast-growing fintech environment. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will lead by example to drive technical excellence, rebuild foundations, and enable teams to self-serve reliability capabilities across a PCI DSS-compliant payments platform.

You will help decide what reliability means at Reap, own the platform's evolution, and guide engineers to a scalable, resilient future across multiple AWS regions and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Defined SLOs and error budgets with product and engineering teams.
• Strong Linux and systems fundamentals with networking knowledge.
• Deep Terraform: state management, modules, and standards.
• Strong AWS across multi-account, multi-region estates.
• Containers and orchestration: ECS/Fargate and Kubernetes at scale.
• Serverless and event-driven systems: Lambda, SQS, EventBridge.
• GitOps and CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and GitHub Actions.
• Observability: logging, metrics, tracing with standard tools.
• Python, Go or Bash for automation and tooling.
• Experience in regulated environments (PCI DSS) and security-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Define reliability meaning: set SLIs/SLOs with teams and manage error budgets.
• Own on-call rotation, incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Drive IaC coverage and remove manual provisioning and drift.
• Consolidate Terraform estate with modular standards and governance.
• Automate account provisioning and environment setup for regions.
• Build self-service interfaces for provisioning, deployment, and observability.
• Design ephemeral environments for on-demand production-like testing.
• Implement industry-standard observability across logging, metrics, tracing.
• Own cloud operations for PCI DSS and regulated financial systems.
• Embed security into the infrastructure layer: least-privilege IAM and secrets.
