Job summary

WD seeks a Senior Equipment Engineer specializing in sputter media to oversee operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of sputtering equipment used in hard disk media production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, minimize downtime, and advance new processes and technologies while mentoring junior engineers and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years in equipment engineering or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional leadership.
• Proficient in MS Office and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop preventive maintenance schedules to ensure reliability.
• Monitor equipment performance data to identify improvements.
• Oversee sputtering equipment installation, maintenance and repair.
• Conduct root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with process engineers to optimize sputtering processes.
• Plan equipment upgrade projects with timelines and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers/technicians on maintenance best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
