Role

The Day-to-Day Activities

1. Strategic Coverage and Capacity Planning:
   • Lead development of long-term coverage and capacity strategies to meet market demands and ensure a future-ready network.
   • Analyze coverage and capacity requirements using advanced data analytics, environmental factors, and emerging technologies.
   • Define high-level solutions leveraging cutting-edge propagation models, tools, and industry best practices to optimize network performance.
   • Enhance spectral efficiency, throughput, and quality of service through innovative planning techniques.
   • Evaluate network performance metrics (signal strength, data rates, latency) to ensure standards are met.
2. Industry Engagement and Regulatory Compliance:
   • Represent the organization in industry forums and regulatory meetings (e.g., MCMC) to align strategies with national requirements.
   • Collaborate with industry partners on network-sharing solutions, optimizing resources while meeting regulatory and customer expectations.
3. Leadership and Mentorship:
   • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Radio High Level Planning Team.
   • Oversee professional development of engineers to ensure skills stay current with industry advancements.
   • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of planning strategies.
4. Innovation and Process Enhancement:
   • Champion automation, AI-driven tools, and scripting to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
   • Stay informed on industry trends (e.g., 6G, IoT) to keep the network competitive and scalable.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in RAN planning and design for mobile networks.
• Experience leading network transformation projects from 4G to 5G.
• Expert knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies, standards, and trends.
• Proficiency with network planning tools (e.g., ASSET, Atoll, Planet) and GIS software (e.g., MapInfo, Google Earth).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience driving automation and innovation in network planning workflows.
