We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Lead to join our team. In this role, you are responsible for sourcing direct and indirect materials (fabrication parts, standard components, and modules) for Cohu products, aligning supplier strategies, and consolidating material demands based on supplier capabilities. You will lead outsourcing initiatives for kit parts and contactor products to qualified, cost-effective suppliers in the Asia region (including the Philippines), manage sourcing activities related to NPI and part transfers in coordination with global supply chain teams, drive cost reduction initiatives, assess and negotiate with suppliers, and maintain strong supplier relationships while promoting zero defect practices in collaboration with relevant departments.

Impact You Will Make

Vendor Sourcing and Management:

Sourcing, Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers through Cohu procurement process.

Lead and responsible for material sourcing and qualification schedule & status update to Project Team timely.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

Drive contract/quotation(s) negotiation with qualified local PH, Asian supplier(s), other regions to meet Cohu PH target price(s).

Comprehend Contract language and draft new Contract terms and conditions.

Ensure contracts are properly executed and managed.

Commodity Management:

Develop and implement sourcing commodities strategies for specific types of materials or components.

Analyzing market trends, supplier performance, and competitor pricing to identify cost-savings opportunities.

Spend Analysis and Cost Optimization:

Analyze and provide quotation(s) summary for final decision making to management and initiate meetings for decision and alignment.

Analyzing spending data to identify areas for cost reduction and improvement.

Supplier Relationship and Performance Management:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring ongoing communication and cooperation.

Conduct Supplier Business Review to highlight performance and drive improvements.

Support FAI/Projects:

Issue Quantity Contract or Purchaser Order for First Article purpose and drive First Article Inspection (FAI) with Supplier, Engineering Team, and FAI Team to complete part qualification.

Support FAI material readiness if the product(s) is not transferred to manufacturing.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards and mitigating potential risks.

Perform work safely and in accordance with the EHS Policy, Procedures and provisions of the Standards, and to report any work hazard (unsafe conditions or unsafe practices) that may be discovered in the workplace and to make suggestions for correction or removal of the potential hazards.

Practice the 5S and waste segregation program, and to support the activities on waste reduction, storm drain management, water and energy consumption reduction.

Our Ideal Candidate

Education: Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain.

Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Sourcing or procurement.

Skills/Technical Requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and ability to read drawing.

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP systems) is an advantage.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills required.

Excellent Communication skills are needed to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Identifying and solving sourcing-related issues.

Must be capable of converting data into information that can be utilized to make key decisions.

Ability to work collaboratively as a cross-functional team member with Sales and Engineering.

Office environment and occasional travel availability required.

Work location: Melaka or Penang
