Job summary

LTX Credence Sdn Bhd (A Cohu Company) in Malaysia is seeking a Software Engineer/Senior Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for controlling semiconductor ATE instruments. You will build instrument drivers, implement hardware interfaces, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operation and quality.

The role requires 5+ years of production-quality software experience, strong C++/OO skills, and Linux-based development expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex, production-quality software systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Experience developing software for instrumentation, hardware control, or embedded systems.
• Experience in Linux-based development environments.
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile practices, and product development processes.
• Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for controlling ATE instruments, including drivers and control software.
• Develop software and unit tests using C++ and OO principles for reliable instrument control.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and applications engineers across development stages.
• Participate in requirements discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and releases.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software interactions and instrument behavior in lab environments.
• Support production releases and address post-release issues and obsolescence.
• Contribute to software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
