Job summary

A leading insurance provider in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IFRS 17) to enhance their IT team. As we move our business toward the digital frontier to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers, we are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (IFRS 17) to join our IT team.

The Role:

• Manage deployment packages issued by vendor and deploy these to all environments. Test deployment package in SIT, coordinate with and guide infrastructure teams to deploy application into UAT and Production.

• Able to pick up application configuration/setup with support from vendor.

• Develop and implement good technical solutions, with considerations on meeting the IT organization’s architecture standards

• Review project technical documentation not limited to requirement documents, technical design specifications, SIT test plan, technical impact assessment, source code documentation.

• Work effectively with peers and vendors to develop, setup and support IFRS17 application and various data integration points

• Conduct technical sessions / clarification with business analyst and sub-system teams prior to solution design, coding and unit testing

• Guide junior developers in understanding of required specifications

• Support SIT and UAT activities e.g. perform defect analysis, troubleshooting and fixing

• Coordinate and support Performance and Security Testing activities e.g. environment setup and test scope

• Validate application conformance to specifications

• Coordinate with infrastructure team on deployment and infrastructure set up related activities (ie. Firewall opening requests, generation of SSL certificates, etc).

• Provide enhancement and production support after project go live

• Coach developers to produce high quality work products

• Able to understand and adhere to company process, procedures and policies

The Person:

  • Possess a recognised degree Computer Science, IT or Information Systems
  • At least 5 years working experience in development using PL/SQL, SQL with good working knowledge data models and data flows with strong understanding of dimensional and relational databases, including: stored procedures, constraints, normalization, indexes, and security
  • PL/SQL Development (SQL queries, stored procedures) and experience in Oracle DB servers
  • Has experience in configuring Weblogic instances for applications
  • Has experience in developing java / shell scripts
  • Extensive experience in Unix OS
  • Prior project implementations that require interfacing with multiple upstream or downstream systems.
  • Integration experience with identify management tools such as Single Sign on.
  • Working experience with Autosys or Control M or other enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Able to work independently
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Able to produce high quality work under pressure
