Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a heavyweight Senior Software Engineer to design robust backends, full-stack or backend-heavy architectures, and data pipelines. You’ll ensure reliability under pressure and optimize queries, containerized deployments, and clean software architecture.

Responsibilities include system architecture, database design, cloud & DevOps integration, API management, performance tuning, and fostering secure engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years backend or full-stack experience.
• Experience in at least two of Python(Django), Java(Spring Boot), PHP(Laravel), or TypeScript(Node.js/Next.js).
• Frontend frameworks (React/Next.js/Tailwind CSS) and Git workflows.
• Docker/Linux and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP); AWS certs are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, data structures, OOP, and software design patterns; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture: design scalable backend architectures and robust microservices using Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Database Engineering: architect relational and NoSQL databases, write optimized SQL, perform data migrations.
• Cloud & DevOps: deploy containerized apps with Docker on AWS or GCP, secure IAM, S3, serverless.
• API Management: design secure, well-documented RESTful APIs with input validation and authentication.
• Performance Optimization: diagnose bottlenecks, improve SSR, implement caching for responsiveness.
• Security & Engineering Culture: promote secure coding, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, improve CI/CD.
