Job summary

GrabX is the centralized platform for managing product configurations and running experiments at Grab. This role will build a scalable, resource-efficient experimentation platform to drive real-world impact in Grab's services with tens of thousands of users, drivers and merchants.

You will work through the full software development lifecycle and be based onsite at our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related field.
• +3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong GoLang proficiency with goroutines and Go libraries.
• Experience with MySQL databases and writing complex queries.
• Experience with Git and deployment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch features of the experimentation platform using GoLang, MySQL, S3, and REST APIs.
• Contribute to end-to-end SDLC including coding, testing, reviewing, and deployment.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Engage in on-call rotations to support platform users and resolve issues.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand needs and optimize solutions.
• Produce RFCs and RCAs documenting technical decisions.

GrabX is the centralized platform for managing product configurations and running experiments at Grab. It allows users to control how products behave for different users, regions, and conditions without the need for code deployments. This flexibility ensures that product teams can iterate quickly and safely on configurations, enhancing the overall user experience.The platform is designed to accelerate Grab’s product rollout velocity while maintaining positive benefits for consumers and ensuring that business performance remains unaffected. By decoupling configuration from code, GrabX empowers teams to make data-driven decisions and optimize product impacts through controlled experiments.

Get to Know the Role

This is a hands‑on role involving building a scalable and resource efficient cutting edge software platform. You will build a available, scalable and resource efficient experimentation platform to drive real-world impact in Grab's services that consists of tens of thousands of consumers, drivers and merchants.

You are expected to have understanding of software development life-cycle and best engineering practices.

You will report to the Software Engineering Manager while being based onsite at our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will be part of design, development and launch of new features of the experimentation platform using GoLang, MySQL DB, S3 and REST APIs.
• You will be part of end to end software development lifecycle of software application including coding, testing, reviewing & deployment.
• You will participate in code and design reviews with the team to maintain high engineering standard practices.
• You will participate in on-call rotations with the team to support platform users. Help to troubleshoot, mitigate and resolve issues reported by users.
• You will identify ways to enhance the platform's performance, capabilities, and user experience.
• You will write technical documents such as RFCs, RCAs
• You will work with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and optimize solutions.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have a bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields with
• +3 year of professional experience in software development.
• You have understanding of engineering practices and design patterns. Experience writing efficient, readable, maintainable and testable code in programming language in GoLang.
• Proficiency in Golang with understanding of goroutines and go libraries.
• You have experience with MySQL database and writing complex and efficient queries.
• You have proficiency of working with VCS such as git, git flows, deployment strategies etc.
