Job summary

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp. A Senior Software Engineer on Applied AI will be the technical backbone of the AI Gateway (GrabGPT Gateway), handling 60+ models across providers and delivering secure, cost-aware access for internal AI initiatives.

You will own scalable gateway services, model routing, and observability, reporting to the Engineering Manager, and work onsite at the Petaling Jaya office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Go and Python.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, LangChain, and LangGraph.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS) and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Advocate for automated testing and concise documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build gateway features end-to-end: provider integrations, unified API endpoints, model onboarding, and rate limiting.
• Create multi-provider LLM routing systems with OpenAI-compatible surface.
• Develop scalable backends in Go and Python for low-latency traffic.
• Operate reliability and governance layers: rate limiting, authentication, and cost tracking.
• Manage CI/CD and cloud resources (AWS), Kubernetes deployments, and migrations to EKS.
• Champion testing, mentor juniors, and foster platform-thinking culture.
• Ensure on-call readiness and lead post-incident analyses.
