Job summary

Hytech Consulting Management Sdn Bhd is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (Security Operations Center) to lead security operations in Kuala Lumpur. You will implement and manage security tools, perform threat hunting, and respond to incidents across SIEM, XDR, and related technologies.

You will also develop and refine SOPs/playbooks, analyze threats, and participate in PoCs for new security products, while building detections and simulations to close gaps in defences.

Qualifications

• Passionate in Cybersecurity with hands-on interest in multiple security domains (e.g., pen testing, forensics, threat intel).
• Willingness to tackle practical, hands-on challenges and learn continuously.
• Experience across diverse OS (Windows, Linux) and familiarity with security tech like EDR/XDR, Firewalls, VPN.
• Understanding at a high level of logs, SIEM, threat hunting, and incident response.
• 7+ years of experience in security operations, detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting, blue team operations, or security monitoring platform development.
• Expert-level SOC detection capability and ability to design detection programs across attack paths and log sources.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security tools currently in use.
• Participate in PoC for future security products.
• Write, review, and enhance cybersecurity SOPs and playbooks.
• Investigate alerts from SIEM, XDR, anti-malware, email security, etc., perform root cause analysis, and mitigate threats.
• Analyze emerging threats and provide actionable threat intelligence.
• Periodically perform threat hunting based on latest threat intel.
• Create and review use cases based on threat intel.
• Implement and perform Breach & Attack Simulation to identify gaps in current tools.
• Set up and manage honeypots to identify potential threats.
