Job summary

Hytech Consulting Management Sdn Bhd is seeking a SOC Engineer to design, implement, and manage security systems within an organization's SOC. The role focuses on monitoring, analysing, and responding to security threats while maintaining and improving security infrastructure.

You will implement and manage security tools, participate in POCs for new products, and develop cybersecurity SOPs and runbooks to strengthen defense capabilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Passion for cybersecurity and hands-on approach to learning.
• Experience with Windows 10/11 and Linux; macOS a plus.
• Familiar with logs, AD, EDR/XDR, firewall, VPN, and security appliances.
• Willing to contribute to SOPs and playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security tools as required.
• Participate in POC for new security products.
• Write and enhance cybersecurity SOPs and playbooks.
• Investigate alerts from SIEM, XDR, Anti-Malware, Email Security; perform root cause analysis.
• Analyze threats and provide actionable threat intelligence.
• Perform threat hunting based on latest intelligence.
• Create and review use cases based on threat intelligence.
