Job description

Responsible for driving sales efforts in key market segments to maximize revenue and expand the hotel's client base. This role involves managing day-to-day sales activities, leading the sales team, and maintaining relationships with high-value clients. The Senior Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving the sales targets set by the hotel, with a particular focus on both proactive and reactive sales.

Key Accountabilities

Sales Strategy Execution

a. Identify and implement the sales strategies as defined by the Director and Assistant Director of Sales, focusing on corporate, MICE, and leisure markets.
b. Develop a proactive sales approach to drive new business opportunities and increase market share.
c. Monitor and assess competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and to refine the hotel's market positioning.

Client Relationship Management

a. Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential high-value clients, including corporate accounts, event organizers, and travel agencies.
b. Negotiate contracts and ensure long-term partnerships by delivering excellent service and follow-through.
c. Conduct site inspections, presentations, and client meetings to showcase the hotel’s offerings and secure business.

Revenue Generation

a. Focus on achieving room night sales and revenue goals as outlined in the annual sales plan.
b. Work closely with the revenue management team to ensure sales strategies are aligned with revenue optimization goals.
c. Identify potential upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize total hotel revenue.

Sales Reporting & Analysis

a. Prepare and present sales reports to the Assistant Director of Sales, outlining performance against goals, key achievements, and areas for improvement.
b. Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor performance to inform strategic adjustments.
c. Monitor and report on sales KPIs, such as room nights, ADR (Average Daily Rate), and market penetration, to ensure alignment with objectives.

Market Research & Development

a. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
b. Provide recommendations to the Assistant Director of Sales on potential business development initiatives.
c. Assist in the creation of new packages, promotions, and services tailored to specific market segments.
