We are expanding our sales team and seeking a motivated Senior Sales Engineer to join our Sabah operations, driving growth in the region’s key markets.

Role Description

As a Senior Sales Engineer based in Kota Kinabalu, you will spearhead sales of Riken Keiki’s gas detection solutions in Sabah, focusing on industries like oil and gas, energy, and industrial facilities. You will combine technical expertise with sales acumen to build strong client relationships, secure high-value contracts, and contribute to our growth in the region. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth in Sabah’s oil and gas, energy, and industrial sectors.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, targeting key accounts and projects to expand market presence.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their technical requirements and proposing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and post-sales support.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation and deal closure.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine sales approaches and enhance product offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline using CRM systems, providing regular updates to management.
  • Represent Riken Keiki Malaysia at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to strengthen brand visibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent experience in technical sales.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of proven sales experience in process instrumentation, gas detection, or related technical fields, ideally within oil and gas or industrial sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of gas detection systems, process control, or safety equipment, with the ability to communicate complex solutions effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales goals, with a track record of securing high-value contracts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with Sabah’s industrial landscape, particularly oil and gas operations in areas like Kota Kinabalu or Labuan.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, independent work environment.
