Job description

What’s The Role

Team member in the Rotating Equipment section to support the condition and performance monitoring of the assigned rotating equipment and aid senior colleagues in troubleshooting mechanical faults, to effectively predict and prevent equipment failures.

Responsible for ensuring work is carried out safely, in accordance with Shell Global Business Principles, government regulations, design codes (Shell DEP, API, etc.), safety standards, and Shell MDS HSE procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing

The principal accountabilities of the Senior Rotating Equipment Technician include:

  • HSE Responsibilities
    • Ensure compliance with HSSE standards and requirements
    • Work safely according to Shell HSSE culture: HSSE Golden Rules, Safety First, Life Saving Rules
    • Support implementation of programs to meet HSSE-MS requirements
  • Leadership Responsibilities
    • Ensure compliance with company standards and processes
  • Strategy Development and Implementation
    • Execute work tasks related to Preventive Maintenance (PM)/Equipment Condition Assessment:
    • Vibration-based condition monitoring for critical and safety-critical equipment
    • Oil analysis-based condition monitoring
    • Major inspections and overhauls for critical production equipment
    • Technical proactive monitoring, e.g., ESP support
  • To achieve high plant availability and reliability, the candidate should be able to:
    • Analyze vibration data and provide recommendations
    • Interpret lube oil analysis results
    • Support work processes for spare parts inspection and job notifications
    • Serve as site focal point for major overhauls and inspections
    • Be familiar with SAP and ME processes
  • Rotating Equipment Problem Management
    • Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Procedures and Standards Development
    • Support development of work instructions, procedures, and audits
  • Methodology and Tools
    • Stay updated with vibration tools and analysis techniques
    • Manage calibration and maintenance of condition monitoring tools
  • Networking and Relationship Building
    • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, operations, and warehouse staff

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in oil & gas/petrochemical plant as a Rotating Equipment Technician
  • Background in mechanical work and maintenance of rotating equipment
  • Diploma or higher in Engineering, preferably in Rotating or Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant oil and gas industry experience
