Job summary

Arup seeks an experienced Senior Construction Inspector to supervise multi-site construction, ensure QA/QC compliance, and maintain comprehensive project records. The role coordinates with general contractors and stakeholders, monitors schedule progress, and guides field and office engineering teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years of inspection experience on major projects (airports, malls, high-rises), and PE/PEPC with Malaysian registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of inspection experience on multidisciplinary building projects.
• PE or PEPC designation.
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia and CIDB.
• Strong communication skills in verbal and written form.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents and construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction on multiple sites and assure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate project records and reports.
• Coordinate with general contractors and key stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and report delays to the Project Manager and client.
• Direct and monitor Field Inspection and Office Engineering staff.
• Provide technical advice on construction and design at field sites.
• Review deviations from materials and procedures with design engineers/consultants.
• Review and approve contract submittals and payment applications.
• Participate in contract close-out activities.
• Conduct regular progress meetings with the contractor and project personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.
