The Senior Reservoir Engineer reports directly to the Manager, Reservoir Engineering, and is responsible for:
- Ensuring all reservoir engineering evaluations and modeling throughout the exploration and production cycle are technically robust and meet or exceed industry or regulatory standards. Coordinates with other subsurface disciplines to ensure all data are integrated and utilized effectively for studies and well planning.
- Maximizing economic recovery and present value by managing subsurface projects, reserves, production forecasts, costs, and exploration activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform reservoir engineering assessments in all subsurface modeling studies to enhance production and recovery via infill well drilling, GCBD, and production enhancement opportunities, adhering to a Reservoir Management Plan (RMP).
- Ensure studies and modeling workflows meet industry and regulatory standards, are fit-for-purpose, and include quality checks.
- Verify that reserves assessments and production forecasts comply with standards.
- Develop and maintain 3D geological dynamic models by integrating data, conduct history matching, and perform predictions and uncertainty analyses to optimize recovery.
- Conduct analyses to identify opportunities and assess reserves by integrating subsurface and production data.
- Collaborate within the subsurface team and multidisciplinary groups, including geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and production technologists.
- Manage projects effectively, overseeing timelines and budgets for activities like seismic acquisition, subsurface studies, FFR, FDP, and formation evaluation.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring timely and high-standard reports and documentation.
- Coordinate with drilling teams to ensure safe exploration and development campaigns, providing expertise on risks and hazards.
- Participate in data rooms, analyze geoscience and engineering data, and provide technical recommendations.
- Mentor and coach reservoir engineers to develop their skills and potential.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields from recognized institutions.
- 15-20 years of experience in reservoir and petroleum engineering, with at least 10 years in 3D dynamic reservoir modeling.
- Experience in reservoir surveillance, studies, well behaviors, and reserves estimation, with a focus on integrating subsurface data and mitigating risks.
- Knowledge of seismic interpretation, petroleum systems, structural geology, fault-seal analysis, sequence stratigraphy, petrophysics, and offshore operations. Capable of reviewing technical processes and formulating FDPs and FFRs.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
