Job summary

TE Connectivity in Penang is hiring a Sr. R&D/Product Development Engineer to design and develop socket, high-speed connector and cable assemblies used in switches, servers and storage for data communication.

You will manage from market definition to production release, conceive new ideas, and translate VOC into practical design specifications. You will run mechanical/thermal simulations, create drawings, perform DFMEA, build prototypes and support qualification, with cross‑functional

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
5–7 years of relevant mechanical engineering work experience with electrical components or mechanical design.
Experience with socket/connector/cable assembly design and DFMEA, tolerance analysis and product qualification.

Responsibilities

Lead product development of socket, high‑speed connector and cable assemblies from market definition through production and release.
Confer with customers and TE teams to translate VOC into design concepts and specifications.
Create detailed 2D/3D drawings and perform DFMEA/tolerance analysis.
Build prototypes, perform validation, and support qualification activities.
Provide technical support to Operations, Quality and Production for efficient launches.
