Qualifications

  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Membership in RISM and BQSM is preferred.

Senior Quantity Surveyor for M&E (Mandarin Speaker)

Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for Electrical & Mechanical projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  2. Contractual Management: Administer contracts and agreements between the client, contractors, and subcontractors. Analyze and negotiate contractual terms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Handle variations and changes in contracts, assessing their impact on project costs.
  3. Quantity Takeoff and Measurement: Conduct accurate quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings. Measure and quantify materials and labor required for construction activities.
  4. Tendering and Procurement: Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and recommend suitable contractors. Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and services at competitive prices. Identify and assess potential risks impacting project costs, develop mitigation strategies, and prepare regular financial reports. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to stakeholders.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure construction work meets quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with project managers to address quality issues. Assist in resolving disputes related to contracts, payments, and project changes. Provide contractual advice and participate in dispute resolution. Work closely with project teams for effective communication and coordination. Mentor junior staff.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  2. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  3. Minimum of 5 years relevant main construction experience, preferably in M&E projects.
  4. Good communication skills, positive attitude, punctuality, high responsibility, and independence.
  5. Team player with a desire to learn and grow.
  6. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is advantageous.
  7. Membership in RISM and BQSM is preferred.
