Job summary

A leading landscape contracting company in Malaysia is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to manage both pre- and post-contract works. The ideal candidate should have over five years of experience, be degree-qualified, and possess strong budgeting and tender preparation skills. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Construction and Building Works.
  • Experience with a Main Contractor is advantageous.
  • Hungry to grow and learn.

  • Preparing Tenders, Quotations, and Cost Breakdowns.
  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Managing Variation Orders and Finalizing Accounts.

The Challenges

Pre-Contract Works

  • Preparing Tenders, Quotations, Cost Breakdowns
  • Getting quotations from Suppliers and Subcontractors for estimation
  • Maintaining cost records and filing systems
  • Preparing Prequalification documents for Contractors
  • Attending Tender Interviews and Briefings
  • Collecting and submitting tenders when necessary
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors for clarifications

Post Contract Works

  • Liaising with Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers
  • Coordinating with Legal Advisors (when required), Finance, and Procurement
  • Budgeting and cost breakdowns
  • Performing and preparing site measurements
  • Re-measurements when needed
  • Coordinating with the Project Team for documentation
  • Preparing Progress Claims and Monthly Valuations
  • Managing Variation Orders
  • Finalizing Accounts
  • Preparing Sub-Contractor Letters of Awards and Certificates
  • Compiling O&M and As-Built documentation for submission
  • Organizing online and hard copy filing
  • Experience with mentoring Junior Quantity Surveyors is advantageous
  • Meeting project targets

What It Takes

  • Recognized Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • 5+ years of experience in Construction and Building Works
  • Hungry to grow and learn
  • Experience with a Main Contractor is advantageous
