About the role

SHUN YIDA CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Main Contractor (Main Con) environments and prior experience with Chinese construction enterprises to join our team in Tampoi, Johor. As a key member of our construction projects, you will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of our building developments. This is a full-time position that offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and analysing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects
2. Negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
3. Monitoring project budgets, tracking expenditures, and providing regular financial reports
4. Identifying and managing project risks, and implementing cost-saving measures
5. Liaising with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery
6. Providing expert advice and guidance on quantity surveying best practices
7. Mentoring and training junior quantity surveyors within the team

What we're looking for

1. Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field
2. Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry
3. Strong understanding of construction materials, techniques, and cost estimation methods
4. Proficient in using quantity surveying software, such as Autodesk BIM 360, Causeway CATO, and Microsoft Office Suite
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
6. Fluent in Chinese, English, and Malay with strong written communication skills
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards
