Job description

OVERVIEW:

Assists the global Quality & ME SVP, Quality Director in supplier quality management and supplier development.

LOCATION: Johore, Malaysia

Here are some of the exciting things you’ll get to do:

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of Quality engineers and Inspectors.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to achieve 99% FPY and maximum output on day 1 of mass production.
  • Implement all CARs generated from PSI, customer returns, Life Tests, Line Audits, LA audits, Customer factory Audits, and other Corrective Action Requests.
  • Work with suppliers to develop an environment conducive to establishing and continually improving quality.
  • Drive supplier continual improvement, regularly review supplier CIP, Kaizen, and lessons learned.
  • Execute factory audits, independent audits, and supplier maturity assessments to enhance overall supplier quality management.
  • Lead PSI activities and analyze Lot Rejection and Yield data to improve product quality.
  • Lead Product Failure Analysis and drive Corrective Actions.
  • Participate in product/material reworks and dispositions.
  • Involve in new project processes and perform manufacturing readiness reviews.
  • Participate in NPD processes, prepare Quality Plans, PSI inspection instructions, EB Sample Audits, and necessary PRRA documents.
  • Determine CTQ parameters, perform Process Capability Studies, and drive pFMEA to improve product quality.
  • Participate in ECN and Deviation implementations with engineering and suppliers.
  • Participate in Retailers’ Factory Assessment Audits and testing with suppliers.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for subordinates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, coordinate, and lead suppliers to improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to achieve 99% FPY and maximum output at day one of mass production.
  • Work closely with Boston, China QA/testing teams to implement product safety, customer returns, and customer experience initiatives at suppliers’ facilities.

Attributes and Skills:

  • Supplier qualification, assessment, and audit skills.
  • Supplier development expertise.
  • Proficiency in 5 Whys and RCA techniques.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to produce quality reports.

Hiring Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in quality management, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in quality management.
  • Familiarity with quality tools to lead issue resolution or improvements.
  • Experience with quality standards, audits, and continuous improvement.
  • Auditor qualification or certified enterprise work experience is preferred.

Functional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
  • Background in quality management.
  • Ability to assess, coach, and monitor team members and suppliers.
  • Guides others logically towards desired outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Honest and loyal to work.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary.
