Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer with deep expertise in Data Analytics to lead quality improvement initiatives across our product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will blend strong analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of quality engineering principles, driving data-informed decision-making and root cause analysis. This role is critical in shaping how we use data to maintain and exceed our quality standards. Data analytic skills will play a vital role in refining data analysis processes, developing foundational datasets and metrics, and ensuring our data infrastructure supports robust analytical capabilities.

The Quality Data Analyst role offers global exposure within NI and to our customers, enabling the Quality Team to be Best in Class in reaching business goals and objectives through driving effectiveness and efficiencies via actionable improvements to product quality and customer experience.

This role reports to the Global Quality Department and collaborates extensively with Business Units, Global Services, Manufacturing, and R&D to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust quality strategies using data analytics tools and methodologies.
  • Analyze manufacturing and field performance data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for quality improvement. Extract, transform, and analyze large data sets.
  • Develop and track key quality metrics, dashboards, and indicators to support continuous improvement. Create scalable data, reporting, and analytics solutions.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using frameworks like Six Sigma, DMAIC.
  • Build effective collaborations with team members and stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and support new product development.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding project status, next steps, and issue resolution.
  • Lead statistical analysis and modeling for process capability, reliability, and yield enhancement.
  • Support audit processes with data-driven evidence and validate corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and analysts in data quality, visualization, and statistical methods.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in Quality Engineering with a focus on data analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, DOE).
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into quality improvements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake platform is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent.
  • Experience in regulated industries like Semiconductor, Medical Devices, Aerospace, Automotive.
  • Knowledge of machine learning for predictive analytics.
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems (SAP, Oracle, FactoryTalk).
