Job summary

SD Guthrie Berhad in Johor is seeking a Senior Quality Control Chemist who will ensure all products meet quality specifications and regulatory requirements. This role involves reviewing lab results, supervising QC lab activities, and investigating quality issues to maintain standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related fields, with 3–5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with ISO standards and excellent attention to detail are crucial.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in laboratory, QC, or R&D.
• Solid understanding of Certificate of Analysis (COA) preparation, review, and approval processes.
• Familiarity with quality documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all incoming, in-process, and finished products meet specifications.
• Review and approve laboratory results, COA, and product release.
• Supervise daily QC laboratory activities following SOP, GMP, and safety requirements.
• Investigate product quality issues, OOS results, and lab non-conformances.
• Monitor quality trends and prepare daily & monthly QC reports for management.

Ensure all incoming, in-process, and finished products meet SDGI PGR specifications and regulatory requirements. No off-spec products are allowed to be released.2. Review and approve laboratory results, COA, and product release before dispatch.3. Supervise daily QC laboratory activities and ensure all testing follows SOP, GMP, and safety requirements.4. Investigate product quality issues, OOS results, and lab non-conformances, and ensure proper corrective and preventive actions.5. Monitor quality trends and prepare daily & monthly QC reports for management.6. Provide technical support and advice to Production and other departments on quality issues.7. Ensure lab instruments are maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.8. Coordinate with Sales, ICA, and PID on customer sample preparation and technical support.9. Create material codes for new products and advise ICA/PID on specifications and material tail codes.10. Act as Food Safety Leader and Halal Executive II and ensure all CCPs / HCPs in PGR are verified and validated.11. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, FSSC 22000, Halal, RSPO, MSPO, SEDEX, ISCC and other requirements.12. Complete customer questionnaires and technical documents related to QC.**Job Requirement**1.
