Gen in Kuala Lumpur invites a forward-thinking Software Tester / QA Engineer to join our fast-paced, global fintech team. You will lead testing across web, mobile, and backend systems, shaping quality from design to delivery.

Bring 5+ years in QA, expertise in manual and automated testing, API testing with Postman or Swagger, and SQL validation. You will mentor junior engineers and help embed testing in CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality assurance with manual and automated testing.
• Proficient in API testing and SQL for backend validation.
• Experience mentoring QA team members and leading QA efforts.
• Excellent cross-team communication and test design skills.
• Familiarity with AI-driven testing tools is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead testing efforts across web, mobile, and backend systems, ensuring high‑quality releases.


• Manage and execute comprehensive test strategies, encompassing both manual and automated testing approaches.


• Manage and execute API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger, ensuring backend functionality and seamless integration.


• Manage and execute UI testing to validate responsiveness, functionality, and consistency across platforms.


• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium or Appium.


• Drive proactive quality engineering by engaging in requirements, coding, and planning phases to embed testing and continuous feedback throughout the SDLC.


• Integrate testing processes into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for efficient deployment.


• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, promoting quality‑focused practices.


• Document and manage test plans, risks, and results to track QA progress.


• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align QA efforts with business and technical goals.


• Identify and adopt new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

About You

• Experience: 5+ years in quality assurance, with a focus on both manual and automated testing.


• Proficient in test automation, API testing, and SQL for backend validation.


• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.


• Proven track record of mentoring team members and leading QA efforts.


• Excellent communication skills for working across teams and presenting test results.


• Proficient in QA methodologies and test design techniques.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Familiarity with AI‑driven testing tools for efficiency.


• Experience with performance testing using tools like LoadRunner or BlazeMeter.


• Exposure to cloud‑based testing platforms like BrowserStack or AWS Device Farm.
