To ensure that all purchasing transactions are conducted in a cost-effective, timely, and high-quality manner, supporting the organization’s operational and strategic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute local purchasing plans to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and timely flow of materials and goods from suppliers to production and warehouse operations.
- Comply with and contribute to the development of supply chain policies, procedures, and standards to enhance purchasing performance.
- Identify and recommend improvements to procurement and production processes to drive operational efficiency.
- Support supplier evaluations, steering initiatives, and audit processes to ensure supplier performance and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, consistent quality, reliable lead times, and favorable payment terms.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external suppliers/subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to guarantee seamless material flow and proactively address supply-related challenges.
- Ensure all procurement activities are well-documented and compliant with organizational standards and applicable local regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of supply markets, procurement strategies, and sourcing best practices.
- Proven track record in negotiation, contract management, and cost reduction.
- Strong purchasing and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Technical background or understanding is considered a strong advantage.
- Ability to interpret and work with technical drawings is beneficial.
- Familiarity with standard production methods and industry standards.
- Strong command of English (both spoken and written) is required. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage, particularly Mandarin.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in procurement, including at least 4 years in a similar industry or manufacturing environment.
