Job description

SCOPE:

To support Regional Head of Procurement SEA to plan, organize, supervise and execute Malaysia site purchasing team to ensure that the Company’s purchasing activities are in accordance to the SOP, and to obtain the best value and quality for all items evaluate suppliers and contract management in Malaysia. Responsible for procuring goods and services for Plaza Premium Group. Assisting and hold accountability to ensure that purchasing in Project & Operation are properly managed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • To assist to ensure the compliance of Purchasing SOP and policies along with providing training to subordinates.
  • Develop and implement country-specific procurement strategies aligned with HQ objectives.
  • Non-food contractual& Project procurement, to ensure preopening outlet and coordinate with Project Team on CAPEX item, and ops Team on OPEX item.
  • Continually review and monitor prices and quality from suppliers to ensure standards been maintained and prices remain competitive. Source new and alternate suppliers for existing products whenever necessary.
  • Cost Optimization- Analyze spend and implement cost-saving initiatives. Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and risk factors to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • In-charge Malaysia country purchase for Food and Non-food category include OS&E, contract management.
  • Responsible for a purchasing team on negotiation with a large purchasing volume on high spending items toward to achieve cost saving mitigation.
  • Contract Management, Analyze and controlling of contractual agreements. Prepare for renegotiations/subsequent negotiations, initiate appropriate measures and guarantee vendors.
  • Compliance and Risk Management -Ensure compliance with local laws, import/export regulations, and internal procurement policies. Managed contract risks, supplier audits, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Alongside with the Head of Procurement to provide a report on negotiations and productivity, demonstrating financial goals achieved monthly.
  • Responsible to define local procurement strategies for a different segment to ensure long-term, cost-effective in COGS.
  • Contract and price negotiations for large volumes to contribute to the profitability of the COGS.
  • Support the Audit purchasing, stocktaking and control procedures for each locations, with emphasis on par level and stockholdings.
  • Ensure that Purchasing personnel are received appropriate quality training to meet the required competencies and standards.
  • Vendor Management, gain the best vendors and guarantee an optimum supply chain including minimizing of purchasing risks. Lead supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Vendor Management, Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local and regional suppliers. Build and maintain long-term relationships to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and supply stability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration -Work closely with departments like logistics, finance, operation and others. Team work with global and regional procurement teams to align our KPI and objective toward good results.
  • Maintain and monitoring existing contract management with vendor and new vendor toward best practice in cost saving plan.
  • Team Leadership and Development- Lead a team of buyers or procurement specialists within the country. Foster a culture of performance, continuous improvement, and ethical procurement.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time.
