Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Malaysia seeks an experienced Architectural Finishes Coordinator to lead coordination and QA/QC for interior finishes across projects. You will review samples, manage field inspections, and ensure design intent is realized from conception to turnover, collaborating with architects, engineers, and the GC.

Travel to APAC may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or BS in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Within 5 years for ID PM role.
• More than 10 years for ID SPM role in architectural design experience.
• LEED, WELL, or equivalent accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all architectural and interior finishes (floors, ceilings, walls, millwork, doors, glazing).
• Review samples, mock-ups, and submittals for compliance with design intent.
• Maintain consistency of materials, colors and detailing throughout the facility.
• Conduct ongoing field inspections to identify workmanship issues early.
• Manage QA/QC activities related to architectural finishes (punch lists, corrective actions).
• Coordinate with architect, engineering, consultants and GC to resolve finish issues before turnover.
• Support owner acceptance by ensuring spaces meet client quality expectations before commissioning.
• Coordinate space planning and lab/office requirements for internal spaces.
• Review programs by creating initial test-fits and review with consultants/GC.
• Support Real Estate Team on site assessment efforts.
• Review proposals, contracts, change orders, and design schedules from architects/engineers/consultants.
• Actively participate in project meetings and drive design schedule per plan.
• Visit vendor offices and suppliers in APAC as needed.
• Update and maintain client's Global Design Guidelines with stakeholder feedback.

Job Description

• Coordinating all architectural and interior finishes, including flooring, ceilings, walls, millwork, doors, glazing, and specialty finishes.
• Reviewing finished samples, mock-ups, and material submittals to ensure compliance with the approved design intent.
• Maintaining consistency of materials, colors, and detailing throughout the facility.
• Performing ongoing field inspections to identify workmanship issues early.
• Managing QA/QC activities related to architectural finishes, including punch lists and verification of corrective actions.
• Coordinating with the architect, engineering, consultant teams, and the GC to resolve finish-related issues before turnover.
• Supporting owner acceptance by confirming that completed spaces meet client’s quality expectations before commissioning and occupancy.
• Coordination of space planning and lab/office requirements for the internal space of groups as required.
• Review programs by creating initial test-fits (as needed for interior, tenant improvement projects) & review with consultant or GC.
• Support Real Estate Team as needed on site assessment efforts.
• Reviewing proposals, contracts, agreements, changing order requests and design schedules from architects, engineers and design consultants.
• Actively participate in project meetings and drive design schedule to ensure that design milestones are met by confirmed schedule.
• Visit vendor offices (architects, engineers, design consultants) and suppliers (building products, furniture and etc.) in APAC as needed.
• Update and maintain client's Global Design Guidelines by actively engaging internal and external stakeholders to obtain feedback and suggestions and gathering lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Architecture from an accredited 4 years or 5 years program.
• Within 5 years for ID PM role.
• More than 10 years for ID SPM role of design experience in architectural firms and/or as an in-house design resource.
• LEED, WELL, or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
