Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead technology transformation projects in a banking technology centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role requires managing scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional delivery across infrastructure, platforms, and applications.

The position demands 6–9 years of PM experience, strong governance and reporting skills, and excellent communication with stakeholders and vendors.

Qualifications

  • 6-9 years of IT Project Management experience.
  • Proven experience managing infrastructure, platform, application, or technology transformation projects.
  • Experience delivering multiple concurrent technology projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, dependency management, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing technology upgrades, migrations, or decommissioning initiatives.
  • Good understanding of technology lifecycles, including hardware, software, OS, databases, middleware, and cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of End-of-Life (EOL), End-of-Support (EOS), and vendor lifecycle management.
  • Experience in project risk management, issue management, and escalation handling.
  • Strong stakeholder, vendor, and cross-functional team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, reporting and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage technology obsolescence remediation projects from initiation through closure.
  • Define scope, milestones, timelines, deliverables, and resourcing.
  • Coordinate upgrades, migrations, replacements, and decommissioning activities.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with technical, business, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Manage schedules, dependencies, and critical paths across teams.
  • Facilitate governance forums, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate vendor activities including upgrade planning, support timelines, licensing, procurement, and delivery commitments.
  • Maintain RAID logs, project documentation, and change records for reporting.

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the projectThe Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Delivery- Plan and manage technology obsolescence remediation projects from initiation through project closure.- Define project scope, milestones, timelines, deliverables, and resource plans.- Coordinate technology upgrades, migrations, replacements, and decommissioning activities.- Ensure project delivery aligns with technical, business, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Scope, Schedule & Dependency Management-Manage project schedules, dependencies, and critical path activities.- Coordinate interdependencies across applications, infrastructure, security, vendors, and business teams.- Identify scheduling risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize service disruption.
  • Risk & Issue Management- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with obsolete technologies.- Track project issues, escalations, and decision points to ensure timely resolution.- Support risk acceptance, mitigation, and remediation activities.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management- Act as the primary coordination point between technology teams, business owners, vendors, and governance forums.- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications.- Coordinate vendor activities, including upgrade planning, support timelines, licensing, procurement, and delivery commitments.
  • Governance & Reporting- Maintain project plans, RAID logs, project documentation, and change records.- Provide regular project status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.- Ensure compliance with organizational project management, governance, and change control standards.
  • Transition & Project Closure- Coordinate transition and handover activities to operations and support teams.- Validate operational readiness, documentation, and support processes before project closure.- Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned.

SKILLS
Must have
