Job summary

AirTrunk in Malaysia seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead the construction phases of large data center facilities, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with the highest quality standards. You will provide leadership, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage safety culture, track milestones, control budgets, liaise with authorities, and support commissioning and handover.

Required: 10–15 years of construction experience; degree in engineering or construction management; data center experience

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of construction experience on projects over 30,000 m2.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical/electrical/civil engineering or project/construction management.
• Experience with a data centre operator or hyperscale/cloud provider in APAC.
• Willingness to travel across APAC.
• Flexible, forward-thinking, results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Take ownership, lead, and manage the construction phases of data center facilities, ensuring alignment with AirTrunk values and objectives.
• Safety: Lead the construction team in establishing and maintaining a culture that promotes safety to the highest standards with the aim of constant improvement and safe delivery.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all installations are of the utmost quality and defect free at handover stage.
• Programme & Milestone Tracking: Management and monitoring of overall project programme to ensure adherence to key contract milestones and deadlines including early identification of possible programme risks and establishing mitigations as required.
• Budget and Cost Management: In conjunction with the Cost Management team, assist with monitoring and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability throughout the project. Review vendor claims, including payment claims, invoices, variations, and time related claims.
• Stakeholder Management: Coordination and interaction with various project level stakeholders, including clients, contractors, consultants, vendors & internal team members to ensure the successful delivery of all project phases. Coordination with local authorities and utilities.
• Risk Management: Identify & report potential risks and issues including partnering with external parties to develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management & stakeholders on project progress including key risks and issues.
• Commissioning & Handover: Provide support to the Services and Commissioning team to ensure successful testing and commissioning, as well as coordination with Operations on final stages of construction and handing over of the facility.

AsSenior Project Managerreporting to ourProject Director,you will work closely with ourDevelopmentteam, making an impact in several ways:

• Accountability forthe delivery of large-scale and/or campus wide projects , ensuring the safe delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Providingstrong leadership, strategic planning, and coordination with cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
• Liaise with and support the Developmentteam,Pre-flightteam, and Senior Managementon preconstruction activities to ensure there is seamless transition once projects are implemented.
