Senior Project Executive /Assistant Project Manager (based in Penang)

This is an exciting opportunity to join IOI Properties Group as an Senior Project Executive/Assistant Project Manager for our developments on Penang Island, Malaysia. As a key member of the project management team, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of our construction projects. This is a full-time position based in Penang.

What you'll be doing
  • Ensure that the company’s Quality Management System Manual, IOI Quality Standard and the Project Quality Plan (PQP) are adhered to during construction of works
  • To obtain all relevant approvals for the construction of the projects including layout plan, earthworks, infrastructure works, building plan approval and all other relevant approvals including the issuance of certificate of fitness and/or certificate of completion and compliance
  • To coordinate with consultants during conceptual design, design development and tender stage and to ensure that all drawings are prepared within stipulated time frame for submission to the relevant authorities and calling tender
  • Act as intermediary between field personnel and architect/designer in the resolution of project issues via management of the Request For Information process
  • To regularly report to the relevant General Manager on the progress of the works and the problem areas encountered especially in respect of defective, outstanding or non-conforming works or delayed works
  • To control relevant project documents and data as outlined in the PQP
  • Prepare project schedule/timelines considering property available room counts, contractor availability/capability and materials and furniture, fixtures, and equipment delivery schedules
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and procedures
What we're looking for
  • Degree or Diploma in Civil & Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar project management role, preferably in the property or construction industry
  • Sound knowledge of civil, structural, quantity surveying and architectural works in hotel construction
  • Good leadership and ability to lead site project team and coordinate with internal contract department and consultants
  • Ability to coordinate with relevant government authorities for the required approvals and permits / licenses
