Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an senior engineer to independently develop advanced engineering approaches for complex problems. You will supervise budgets, schedules, and technical outputs for medium to high complexity projects while interfacing directly with clients on all technical aspects.

The role requires 15+ years in engineering or technical advisory, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong English communication. Malaysian PE registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Engineering or Technical Advisory.
• Graduation in mechanical engineering; other disciplines may be considered with right experience; post‑graduation is an advantage.
• Fully comfortable with Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication in English both speaking and writing.
• Registered mechanical Professional Engineers (PE) in Malaysia is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
• Responsible for supervision of project budget, schedule, technical output and performance of the engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity.
• Interfaces directly with the Client on all technical aspects of the project.
• Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and BV policies.
• Assists in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards.
• Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members.
