In conjunction with Malaysian-based MFE Formwork Technology, a leader in monolithic aluminium formwork, Doka has strengthened its position in the Asia-Pacific region as part of its strategic growth plan.

We are looking for a Senior/Project Designer EAP based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to support formwork design and calculations for civil infrastructure projects across Asia Pacific. Reporting to the Head of Engineering EAP, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in formwork design, be capable of managing projects independently, and support the sales team during proposals and pitches. The role involves working from our offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Manila, or Mumbai.

The responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining contact with customers and sales teams as a problem solver and discussion partner
  • Producing AutoCAD drawings and Revit formwork models during project proposals, ensuring designs are safe, economical, and efficient
  • Ensuring drawings accurately depict the use of Doka formwork systems and meet safety standards
  • Performing static analysis and preparing specifications
  • Providing material lists for quotations and shipments
  • Participating in staff training programs on calculations, product knowledge, and software applications
  • Supporting sales by determining suitable formwork solutions that meet client needs and safety standards
  • Designing within inventory constraints and contractual requirements
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards

Minimum requirements include:

  • A degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least three years of formwork experience with international systems, especially in civil construction such as bridges, tunnels, pylons, and high-rise buildings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience with BIM models in Revit and Inventor is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment
