Job Description

  • Provide the Project Manager and Project Services Manager with comprehensive and reliable data and information about the project status (actual, forecast, trend) and highlight the reasons for adverse trends if any exist.
  • Proactively assist the Project Manager in identifying preventive measures or corrective actions required to improve the project status and mitigate risks.
  • Manage the preparation of project procedures.
  • Set the subcontracting strategy, including target budgets, award dates, and subcontracting principles.
  • Maintain the risk register.
  • Review and validate the subcontract plan and database, engineering deliverables list, progress monitoring structures, master and offshore schedules, CBS structure, forecasting accuracy, and manpower forecast for the project team.
  • Analyze the actual status and forecast for cost, progress, and schedule.
  • Drive the preparation of change orders and claims, and maintain the Change Register.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing the RMI (Internal Monthly Report), PMR (Project Management Report), and other ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, including client meetings and regional management requests.
  • Develop, maintain, and update an overall manpower utilization plan (actual and forecast) for Project Controls personnel, liaising with HR & Project Services to meet project requirements.
  • Attend operations meetings, weekly management team meetings, client meetings, and meetings related to project status.
  • Report directly to the PM and participate in weekly management meetings.
  • Attend meetings concerning project status or concerns, providing guidance and resolutions to maintain progress and contractual compliance.
  • Ensure project compliance with corporate and project procedures and lead by example in QHSE practices.

You are meant for this job if:

  • You possess an Engineering, Commerce degree, or a related tertiary qualification.
  • You have a strong understanding of contracts management, cost control, planning, and scheduling principles.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years' experience in project services within the offshore/onshore oil & gas industry, with exposure to large-scale EPC or EPCM projects.
  • You understand risk management and project management reporting.
  • You have working knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project, along with advanced MS Excel skills; experience with MS Access is preferred.
  • You possess high-level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and presentation abilities, along with advanced analytical skills.
  • You can work under stringent deadlines, prioritize tasks under pressure, and demonstrate high motivation and initiative.
  • You are committed to commercial principles and adhere to strict procedures.
  • You can maintain independence within a project team and ensure detailed, accurate reporting through all reporting lines.
