Job summary

PEC SE ASIA SDN BHD is seeking a Production Manager to lead the production department at our new Penang site. You will oversee planning, execution, and continuous improvement to meet orders on time, with zero defects, while developing a high-performing team.

You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, and supply chain to optimize manufacturing performance and drive cost reductions through lean practices and KPI monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience managing production planning and shop floor operations.

Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution: develop and enforce production plans to ensure on-time completion.
• Ensure allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor production output, productivity, and delivery adherence to commitments.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse for material availability.
• Install and enforce production processes and continuous improvements.
• Optimize assembly methods and workflow to achieve cost reductions.
• Guarantee zero-defect operations.
• Install production KPIs and monitor productivity, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Act as the interface between production, engineering, quality, supply chain and product development teams.
• Support implementation of new products and process improvements.
• Ensure BOM changes and engineering updates are effectively introduced into production.

By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Asia, Europe and the United States

As Production Manager, you are responsible for the overall planning, organization, and performance of the production department. You ensure that customer orders are assembled and delivered on time, in full, and with zero quality defects. You lead and develop the production team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, quality, and supply chain functions to optimize manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution
• Develop and enforce production plans to ensure orders are timely completed.
• Ensure efficient allocation of manpower, equipment, materials
• Monitor production output, productivity, and adherence to delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
• Install and enforce adequate production process procedures, including regular improvements.
• Optimize assembly methods and workflow arrangements to annual achieve cost reductions.
• Guarantee accurate, efficient and zero-defect operations.
• Install production KPIs and monitoring, including productivity, quality, delivery performance, and cost.
• Act as the primary interface between production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and product development teams.
• Support the implementation of new products and process improvements.
• Ensure BOM changes and engineering updates are effectively introduced into production.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience managing production planning and shop floor operations.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Malay, Chinese is a plus.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities are essential.
• Highly organized, analytical, and results-driven.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to drive operational improvements.
