Job description

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of quality products for our client, a regional electronics company based in Johor, Malaysia. The role involves evaluating suppliers, tracking orders, maintaining purchase records, and preparing cost analysis reports. Collaboration with warehouse staff for proper storage and addressing supplier issues promptly are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research potential vendors and evaluate suppliers.
  2. Compare, analyze, and evaluate offers from suppliers.
  3. Negotiate contract terms and pricing.
  4. Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  5. Review the quality of purchased products.
  6. Attend events, shows, and exhibitions to network with vendors and view new products.
  7. Maintain updated records of purchases, delivery information, and invoices.
  8. Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
  9. Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
  10. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
  11. Inspect purchased products upon delivery and provide timely feedback to suppliers regarding any issues.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree from any faculty with at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in supply chain management is an advantage.
  • Experience with both direct and indirect materials.
