Job summary

ExxonMobil in Malaysia is seeking an experienced senior process engineer (project development) based in Kuala Lumpur to support upstream, downstream, and chemical site projects from concept to development.

You will lead gate reviews, develop project objectives and strategies, and coordinate cost and schedule estimates while applying process safety and project management best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering is required.
• 10 years’ experience in downstream or upstream project development.
• Knowledge of process technology, project economics, concept selection, process design and optimization, process safety and project management.

Responsibilities

• Support site with identification of potential business options and preliminary competitive assessments.
• Assess opportunities aligned with business strategies and site inputs.
• Develop project objectives and strategies with documentation and communication throughout development.
• Define project scope to support development, including preliminary design and integration of non-process equipment.
• Lead or coordinate gate reviews and obtain endorsement from the Project Steering Committee.
• Lead development of gate deliverables (design basis, safety and reliability reviews).
• Coordinate development cost and schedule estimates with other organizations.
• Develop screening economics for lead alternatives and select preferred options.
• Determine appropriate project delivery format and execution model.
