WD is seeking a Senior Engineer in Penang to lead the development, optimization, and sustaining of HDD manufacturing processes. This role demands strong foundations in chemical engineering or materials science and hands-on expertise in DOE, SPC, and process qualification.

You will interface with global R&D and process teams, drive ECOs and RCCA, and mentor junior engineers on the Penang floor while delivering cost-competitive, high-yield manufacturing solutions for WD's data-storage products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in process or manufacturing.
• Experience with HDD media cleaning is a plus.
• Proficient in DOE, SPC, FMEA, and technical reporting.
• Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma certification is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop new manufacturing processes for HDD production.
• Conduct DOE to characterize process windows and optimize outputs.
• Qualify new chemicals and materials for manufacturing use.
• Develop process recipes, control plans, and SOPs.
• Lead sustaining engineering and manage ECOs.
• Drive RCCA for process-related defects.
• Support NPI and technology transfer to Penang.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical reviews.
