The Biofuels Research and Analytics team provides data, strategic research, and analysis across the biofuels value chain so our clients can make critical decisions with confidence. Energy players, agricultural stalwarts, and financial institutions rely on us to better understand markets, policies with our independent outlook to adjust their business strategy.

  • You will be at the forefront of a rapidly developing industry, and this role offers opportunities to develop in-depth knowledge of the biofuels sector and its role in Energy Transition and the decarbonization of the energy sector.
  • While your focus will be primarily on biobunkers, you will also have a hand in deciphering the biofuels sector on a global scale.
  • You will be collaborating with a global team and have exposure and access to other expertise in associated industries.

Responsibilities: We are looking for a highly motivated individual who would like to join an international team of like-minded people, driven to deliver excellence. You are applying for a dynamic career path within a passionate and fast-paced environment. More specifically, responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and analyze the impacts of changing biofuels-related policies and regulations with a focus on biobunkers.
  • Research and analysis of the biofuels market - covering feedstocks, supply, demand, trade and pricing information from proprietary in-house models and publicly available sources.
  • Maintain and update various databases and models which are the backbone of our analysis.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for these markets, contributing to a wide range of S&P Global Commodity Insights publications.
  • Collaborate and support colleagues from other offices within and outside region and other Commodity Insights teams to improve research activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. Economics, Business, etc.; a graduate degree is a plus, but not essential.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in related research and/or analytical role, typically acquired by working in industry, government, or consulting.
  • Experience in biofuels or other industries, such as energy, agricultural commodities, or refined product markets, would be advantageous.
  • Excellent Excel skills (experience with Excel modelling is a plus) and proficiency with other MS applications (Word and PowerPoint) are required. The ability to program in VisualBasic, Python or R would be a plus.
  • Excellent English writing and presentation skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload with limited supervision.
  • Must be flexible with the ability to work collaboratively.

Flexible Working: We pride ourselves on our agility and diversity, and we welcome requests to work flexibly. For most roles, flexible hours and/or an element of remote working are usually possible.
