Job description

Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Principal Structural Designer is responsible for leading and coordinating structural design activities to ensure the delivery of accurate, high-quality drawings, 3D models, and related design outputs in line with project, client, and regulatory requirements. The role provides technical direction, guidance, and mentoring to structural designers, ensuring compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and constructability principles. In addition to preparing and reviewing complex design deliverables, the Senior Principal Structural Designer collaborates closely with structural engineers, other design disciplines, and project stakeholders to resolve design challenges, optimize solutions, and support project execution. The position also plays a key role in planning design resources, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables, and contributing to continuous improvement in structural design practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the structural design team in delivering high-quality, code-compliant solutions.

• Oversee the development of detailed drawings, 3D models, and design deliverables and ensuring alignment with project schedules, budget and technical requirements to completion.

• Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards and regulations.

• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, management, construction and client to ensure seamless project execution

• Review and approve design deliverables and coordinate design reviews

• Provide technical guidance, expert input and promote best practices in design execution, systems, processes and tools.

• Involve in the development/enhancement of systems, processes and tools.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineers and designers.

Qualifications / Skill Set:

• Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Drafting

• 20+ years of experience in structural design, with 5+ years in a leadership role

• Experience in Fixed/Floating Offshore structures design in both greenfield and brownfield projects

• Advance proficiency in E3D, SP3D, BOCAD or TEKLA

• Strong understanding of offshore structures, steel detailing, and fabrication methods.

• Strong knowledge of structural codes and standards.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
