About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Operations Specialist (Applications Engineer) with deep specialization in Container Platform Automation to join a foundational team for a major new project. This unique opportunity places you on the ground floor to build and shape the operational success of a brand‑new system.
What You Will Do
- Perform administrative‑level tasks and manage the full lifecycle of on‑premise Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and robust security.
- Write and modify complex Ansible scripts from scratch to automate configuration, deployment, and operational tasks across the environment.
- Proactively monitor service performance using tools like Dynatrace and conduct in‑depth troubleshooting of complex incidents, collaborating with technical teams on root cause analysis (RCA).
- Manage day‑to‑day service operations, coordinating with teams and vendors to ensure strict adherence to customer SLAs.
- Work extensively with core technologies, including IBM MQ and Forgerock, which are crucial for daily operations.
- Deploy system changes, develop operational procedures, and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
- Work within a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and VMware environment, performing necessary system administration tasks.
What You Must Bring (Mandatory Requirements)
- Kubernetes Expertise (Administrative Level) – Demonstrable hands‑on experience managing on‑premise Kubernetes clusters, including cluster administration, networking, and security.
- Ansible Scripting (Development Focus) – Minimum 3–4 years of deep experience writing and developing new scripts and playbooks, not just basic configuration.
- Crucial Application Experience – Hands‑on operational experience with IBM MQ and Forgerock.
- Operational Depth & Systems – Proven experience with RHEL 7/8, VMware ESXi/vSphere, and complex incident troubleshooting.
- Customer‑Facing Experience – Minimum 3–5 years in an application/system support domain, dealing directly with internal/external customers and delivering to SLAs.
What Will Make You Stand Out (Nice‑to‑have Skills)
- Advanced monitoring and logging tools, specifically Dynatrace and Elasticsearch/Kibana.
- Relevant certifications such as CKA, RHCSA/RHCE, or Ansible scripting certifications.
- Programming knowledge in Python, Shell, or Perl.
- Familiarity with other container technologies like Docker.
- Experience in the airline or air transport industry (ATI).
